Tips Bangun Pagi dengan Sunnah Rasulullah Part 3

Assalamu'alaikum pejuang subuh,
Di tulisan ini aku akan membagikan pengalamanku tentang bagaimana cara bangun pagi. I have tried a lot of method and I think this is works for quite a long time, make a sense for my sleeping hours and I hope it will work for you.

Mempersiapkan diri sebelum tidur

1. Transform the Night Routine
this is the root of the problems. salah satu yang harus diubah saat kita ingin membiasakan diri bangun tidur adalah adab sebelum tidur. Probably we are forcing ourselves to be awake in the morning without considering our night routine that is a mess. Why did I say a mess? well, that's maybe we were playing with our cellphone. You know, the screen light from your phone will effect your sleep. I will attach the information from sleep.org, it says

"Cell phones, computers, tablets and TV produce the blue light which restrain or prevent the production of melatonin. Reducing melatonin makes it harder to fall and stay asleep. People admit to using cellphone an hour before bedtime. Thus,give yourself at least 30 minutes of gadget-free transition time. Make sure technology is not harming your slumber (Sleep)"

Melatonin is the hormone that controls your sleep/wake cycle. investing your time for 30 minutes reading a book will change your life. Probably your habit to wake up early.

2. Following the Sunnah

ONE
Rasulullah Saw has taught us about the manners before sleep. First, go to sleep after pray Isya. well, if you do this, you do not need to transform the night routine with reading a book. Probably, if you go to the bathroom to brush your teeth and wash your face, then take wudhu and pray. That's 30 minutes of gadget transition time! bang!

Secondly, you may have a lot things in mind after a whole day working or interacting with other people. you may have things that still come in your mind because you have no chance to do it or you want to do it in another way. well, Rasulullah taught us to do the istighfar. istighfar means asking for forgiveness about what we have done. This will pure our heart from evil. The whispers from syahtan will not affect us, then the anger, sadness, and others will be just gone. Focus on the words and the meaning of istighfar and get closer to Allah. you will feel content. Better to do it 100 times, but even less that's all right. do as much as you can. The most important thing is you read it slowly and feel it in your heart and mind to purify your heart, mind and soul.

THREE
Make dua. what is more stronger than du'a?
In my opinion this is the best way.
- Istighfar
- Dzikr (Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahuakbar)
- Read Al-ikhlas, An-naas, and Al-falaq ( The last two is the surah of mu'awathathen which means the two protectors) [Again, understand the meaning so that you can be more content and focus]
- Read the last two ayah from al-baqarah ( I put it on the wall near my bed so I can do this easily)
- Read the du'a before sleep

I recommend you to do this, then, on the next day you can slowly understand the meaning of istighfar, then on the other day you can improve your understanding to understand the words in dzikir, better you have an Arabic words in your mind when you spell it, then on the other day understand surah al-ikhlas, each words of it, until you understand the meaning of du'a before sleep. it takes several days but that's allright, the most important thing is you do this continuously.

THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION
Then, if you have done all of the du'a, turn on the lamp and go to bed but still awake in you bed. I experience it too.

The other thing that you can do is do not give up. close you eyes, have the best position (sleep on the right side) as Rasulullah did.

Sometimes, there is a time when I just want to see my cellphone rather than do nothing like that. but maybe you can do dzikir or say istighfar while trying to sleep. that's better rather than break your new habits that you want to make. Hope Allah guide you to the best routine for you.
